Martin Hill biography

Cllr Martin Hill, CCN Devolution Spokesman

Martin has been the leader of the council since 2005, and has been a county councillor since 1993 for Folkingham Rural which represents over 20 parishes between Sleaford, Bourne and Grantham.

He was awarded the OBE in 2008 for services to Local Government in Lincolnshire. He is also Chairman of East Midlands Councils and a Member of the Greater Lincolnshire Leadership Board.

Originally from a Lincolnshire family and has lived within the county most of his life.  He now lives at Kirby Underwood just north of Bourne in an old pub with his wife, Janice.

A farmer for 30 years and farmed arable, cattle and produced hay but, due to the increased responsibilities, he is now a full time councillor.
