Our work in these areas include research on culture, leisure and communities in counties and how climate change policy affects rural and county areas.

Our work in these policy areas is geared towards supporting county councils and unitary councils as leaders in their places. Over the years, we have highlighted how county authorities continue to deliver high-quality 'every day' services despite challenging financial times, climate change and its policy impact on county areas, how leisure services improve local health, and we've analysed the local impact of the ongoing national waste and recycling reforms.
