Resident centric - Connected - Financially sustainable

We partner with local authorities to improve and innovate their public services to support people and families to thrive in their communities. We do this by helping create connected, resident-centric places that are financially resilient.

The quantum, scale, and complexity of change and reform in the sector continues to grow. In this context, we help to define and deliver the short-term improvement activity to move towards financial sustainability, set the strong digital and structural foundations for long term innovative change.

We’re committed to being excellent value for the public, as demonstrated by our 100% implementation fee guarantee.

Our partnerships with over 100 public sector organisations, including many CCN members, have achieved:

  • More than £2bn in recurrent savings for the state and the taxpayer.
  • Better working experiences for those who lead and deliver public services.
  • Better outcomes for hundreds of thousands of citizens who are now:
    • receiving the right support, in the right place, at the right time
    • more connected to their families, communities, and place
    • experiencing better, more connected, and digitally-enabled services
    • leading more independent and fulfilling lives.
Our strategic partnership with CCN

Newton and CCN have a long-standing strategic partnership.

Research programmes

Together, we shape practical, evidence-based solutions to the most pressing challenges facing county authorities. Examples of these research programmes include:

  • Analysing the impact of Local Government Reorganisation on people services
  • The forgotten story of social care: The case for improving outcomes for working age and lifelong disabled adults
  • Finding a way home: How health and social care can optimise hospital flow and discharge this winter to improve outcomes and performance
  • The future of adult social care: Optimised local delivery
  • The future of children’s services: An optimised model for supporting children in care and on the edges of care: national enablers, local delivery
  • Demand and capacity of homes for children in care: Challenges and opportunities in the provision of supported accommodation for young people aged 16+

We have also worked with CCN members on other research programmes including a Community of Practice for 20 senior leaders in adult social care — a year-long programme designed to support leaders develop a practical model for making targeted, proactive prevention work in their area. This led to a further initiative alongside LGA and several councils to test this delivery model. https://www.futureofprevention.com/
